Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake is a distinguished academic with 30 years of experience, engineer, and sustainability leader. He is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Peradeniya. With extensive leadership experience, he has served as a President of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL) and He is the Immediate Past Chairman of the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka (GBCSL).
An internationally recognized researcher, Prof. Dissanayake is a Fulbright Scholar, Endeavour Fellow, and JASSO Research Fellow. His contributions have earned him prestigious awards, including the Australia Alumni Excellence Award, and the Global Sustainability Lifetime Award 2024, and very recently he was awarded with the National Apex Award 2025 for Engineering Services by the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka.
Beyond academia, he is a successful entrepreneur, leading multiple companies under gap HQ. His passion for sustainability drives his leadership in organizing global conferences on resource efficiency, biomimicry, and sustainable built environments.
